"We are so grateful for all the care and kindness you gave my mother. Especially I want you to know that….of your staff, brightened and eased my mother's life…and provide my brother… and I great relief to know how well loved and cared for Mom was. There really aren't enough words to tell you how forever grateful I will be. Wishing you all much peace!"

March CAREGiver of the Month

Marie Paul-Saint

Marie Paul-Saint has been with Home Instead for almost 2 years. Throughout her tenure, Marie has demonstrated a consistently professional manner and maintains a wonderfully positive attitude.

As a CAREGiver, Marie is Positive and encouraging. No matter how difficult a situation might be, Marie faces it with a smile. Marie is a great team player, assisting by picking up extra shifts, seeing that client needs are met in a seamless manner. She communicates well with her peers and the office.

Thank you Marie for your always-winning smile, your high level of professionalism and your wonderful attitude.

Congratulations Marie!!! You are our CAREGIVER of the MONTH!!!

February CAREGiver of the Month

Sandra Lambert

This month our Home Instead CAREGiver of the month is Sandy Lambert. Sandy has been with the company since July of 2012. In that short time, Sandy has completed both our Alzheimer’s as well as our PCH training.

Sandy is a warm kind and caring woman, who is dedicated to her clients. She is reliable and highly professional. Sandy will accommodate her clients when a need arises, working a weekend or filling in.

Sandy was picked as our CAREGiver of the month because of her drive to grow within her role as a CAREGiver. She then works hard to apply that training with her clients. During a recent introduction to a new Client, suffering with Alzheimer’s Disease, Sandy was observed applying her Alzheimer’s training. Sandy was soon able to engage her distracted, non communicative client. Within the first hour, the client was focused, laughing and speaking.Cool as a cucumber, Sandy takes on her tasks and challenges. Committing to all of the trainings available has allowed Sandy to shine. A knowledgeable CAREGiver with a great attitude in life; we are happy to call Sandy one of our own. We are so proud to have Sandy as a caregiver here at Home Instead Senior Care.!!!

January CAREGiver of the Month

Marcia Cabral

Fantastic, phenomenal, dedicated and caring are just a few ways to describe this month’s Caregiver of the month, Marcia Cabral. Marcia has been with Home Instead since October of 2012. In the short time that Marcia has been with us, she has been very dedicated to her clients. She has shown how CAREGivers can go above and beyond with a client simply by listening to their needs. In return, the client calls the Home Instead office to tell her supervisors what a great person she is and how she can’t say enough about how helpful she has been. Simply put, she couldn’t stay at home without her help and this means the world to her.

Marcia has a client who has recently moved; Marcia dedicated an entire extra day to the client to help her pack her belongings, move the boxes from one address to the next, and then made sure to clean her old apartment. This saved the client from having to hire a moving crew, and we all know how pricey that can be. Marcia is polite, on time and reliable. She makes sure to call or reschedule when she can’t make it to her client. Furthermore, she makes sure to give her supervisors a sufficient amount of time to reschedule or re-staff.

Marcia is smart and pleasant to be around and she brightens the day of any client she visits. Easily adaptable, Marcia can take on just about any client with ease, simply by following the care plan, using her best judgment and listening to what the client has to say. Hats off to you Marcia, making a difference in the lives of our clients and allowing them to remain as independent as possible. You are helping us achieve our goal here at Home Instead Senior Care, as well as helping the client achieve their goal of independent living.

2012 CAREGiver of the Year

Marcy Blais

Marcy Blais joined our Northborough Home Instead Senior Care staff in January of 2009. As a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in good standing, Marcy was able function as a Personal Care Homemaker (PCA) for my office immediately following her orientation.

One concern we historically have regarding our CNA’s and HHA’s (Home Health Aides) is that although their training provides them with the ability to perform hands on tasks both quickly and with competence, they are often lacking in the ability to engage with their client. Not so with Marcy. Marcy didn’t need extensive orientation, introductions and supervisions, she engaged with the client right from the start!

Marcy’s warmth and caring is evident from her first visit with any client. There is never that, oh so usual, initial awkwardness experienced by many CAREGivers, and mirrored by their clients. Marcy just seems to seamlessly move onto and into a new case and is instantly trusted and loved by her clients.

Any client with whom Marcy is placed, will continue with Marcy. Any client that Marcy does a fill in for, we soon hear from the client and family requesting that Marcy be an ongoing part of their Home Instead Team.

What is Marcy’s secret? Well, she is neither too forward nor is she too shy. She is not overly bubbly nor is she overly withdrawn. She can motivate without demanding and can assist without forcing. She is warm, but not suffocating. She is adult but never infantilizes her clients. She is able to accept her clients and NEVER diminishes them.

Marcy is also a wonderful employee. She is upbeat, responsive to requests and demonstrates responsibility in everything she does. This translates into being reliable. Both her supervisors and her teammates can rely on her. She does her job completely, and then some. Should she see a change in her client’s status, she is responsive and takes responsibility. She is professional in every sense of the word.

Congratulations to Marcy Blais, Home Instead Senior Care 2012 CAREGiver of the Year!

2012

December CAREGiver of the Month

Audrey Murdock

This month's honoree is Audrey Murdock. Audrey is approaching her 7th anniversary with us and has been a wonderful member of the Home Instead family. In her time with us, Adurey has been able to work with a large variety of clients and is an active member of the CareGiver community. Audrey has had a harrowing month having faced some challenging obstacles with some of her clients. When one client began to have seizures, Audrey acted calmly and professionally, and was able to make sure medical help arrived quickly. The medical supervisors of the facility where her client resides were incredibly impressed with how Audrey conducted herself, and even called back a couple days later to make sure we know how great she is. It’s in a situation like this with CareGivers like Audrey, that best represent the experience and knowledge our Home Instead Staff has. It also goes to show how important a close working relationship with care facilities can improve the level of care we provide for our clients. It is a great benefit to our clients to be able to have that one on one help that facilities can’t always guarantee. Thank you Audrey!

November CAREGiver of the Month

Bea Cooper

Beatriz joined the Home Instead family early spring of 2012 and has proven to be a consistent and involved CAREGiver with her clients. Bea has worked to get her Personal Care certification and has taken the Alzheimer’s training. She has been flexible with her schedule as the needs of her clients have changed. Through these changes she has provided a consistently high level of care for all her clients. Bea currently works with a client who has significant communication challenges, which she is able to manage with patience and professionalism.

Recently, Bea’s client had an unfortunate accident while out with her family and needed to be hospitalized for a few weeks. While her client was in rehab, Bea offered to stop by the house once a week to check on things, clean up, and take care of the dog! While her schedule opened up during this time, Bea was beyond helpful in her willingness to take on other shifts, including accepting some shifts with a very tight travel plan, and short notice.

As with many of our CAREGivers during the recent storm, Bea offered to check in on her clients when things were most hectic. This level of care and concern for the health and safety of her clients, along with her patience and flexibility is why Bea is a standout CAREGiver. Thank you for all that you do!!!

October CAREGiver of the Month

Nandini Basavappa

Our October CAREGiver of the month spent the first part of her career as a laboratory technician. Now if one were to generalize, globalize and stereotype a lab tech, one might assume that someone who does that type of job is a bit withdrawn, shy and prefers their petri dish to engaging with (initially) strangers. But Our October CG of the Month certainly is not such a person!

Nandini Basavappa is so beloved by every client she has worked with that even her “fill in” clients beg to have her back!

Nandini has been a CAREGiver for Home Instead for over a year. Her supervisors describe her as "highly professional, calm, polite, pleasant". Her clients note that she is "pleasant, easy to talk to, a really hard worker, does her job A-Z".

Nandini is a good listener, she is able to move from the care plan (list of needs) and apply that plan in a manner which is both thorough and thoughtful. She is also able to assess the client and the client’s needs and then communicate changes or potential changes to her supervisors.

Nandini is also a great team player. She is open to doing fill in cases and has left these clients very pleased and the regular CAREGiver appreciative that “their” client was well cared for. Nandini’s regular clients LOVE her.

Thank you, Nandini and CONGRATULATIONS! Job well done!!!

2012 BayPath Elder Services Caregiver of the Year

Candice Depaz

When you move from a compiled list of needs, divided into by fifteen minute units of time, it is often the fleshing out of those timed tasks that differentiates a good CAREGiver from a Great CAREGiver.

Candice Depaz is a GREAT CAREGiver. Candice enters every new case and with a "can do" attitude. She organizes her time well allowing her to, not only accomplish what "Needs" to be done, but moving into the little extras that make her client's life "Nice" that it was done. We often call that eye to detail the "above and beyond" tasks. But for a person struggling to maintain themselves within the familiarity of home, those little things, a warm shower gently administered, shampooed hair smelling of your favorite product, a sparkling kitchen that welcomes you to meals, are all truly precious. One client, Mrs. E. B., commented: "each week I put together a list of the things that need to be done but before I can even share that list...it’s done!...Candice knows what to do and how I like it...She is punctual and always pulled together...organized...she is GREAT!"

Always, beyond the tasks, is the Client/CAREGiver relationship, that ability to create a warm trusting environment in which your client happily anticipates your visit. In the nearly two years that Candice has been with Home Instead, there has never been a less than positive Client/CAREGiver relationship noted (and believe me, we DO track this!). Each of Candice's clients feel that her attention to them is "Special". But we, at Home Instead, recognize that it is Candice who is special!

Congratulations to Candice for being the Home Instead Senior Care "Outstanding Service Award" and Caregiver of the Year recipient!

September CAREGiver of the Month

Colleen Tedesco

Congratulations to Colleen Kendrick Tedesco, our September CAREGiver of the month!

Colleen came to work for Home Instead as a CAREGiver in September 2011. It was obvious from the beginning that she possessed a deep and genuine sense of compassion for helping others and immediately began touching the hearts and lives of her clients. Colleen's commitment to her roll as a caregiver and desire to continue to learn additional skills necessary to better that roll lead her to attend and successfully complete one of our in house PCA trainings.

In addition to Colleen's drive for success and natural caregiving abilities she also takes "going above and beyond the call of duty" a step above the rest. Recently, Colleen showed up for a shift with one of her clients who happens to be in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, and found him not to be home. His daughter was on vacation in a location that made it impossible for her to get home immediately. By the time she was able to successfully locate him he had driven himself and his small dog almost all the way to the New York border. Without a second thought Colleen got in her car, drove to her client's whereabouts, and brought both him and his beloved pet home to safety. This was a tremendous relief to the client's daughter who not only was able to finish out her vacation but now was filled with a new sense of relief and reassurance that her father's best interests were truly being looked after.

Thank you, Colleen, for being "everything and more" in what Home Instead looks for in the CAREGivers who serve our clients. We are proud to have you as part of our team!

August CAREGiver of the Month

Tina Donahue

Congratulations to Tina Donahue!

Tina has been with Home Instead since 2010. Tina does a great job connecting with our clients and along with that connection has an energizing and outgoing personality.

Tina is always reliable and is always someone we can count on.

She is willing to help and recently got us out of an extremely tough situation. She was called after 11:30pm to help with an overnight shift having never done one before. Not only did she say yes, she promptly hopped in her car to get there for the client who was in need! What a relief to both the client and the HISC staff! Thank you again Tina!

July CAREGiver of the Month

Bonnie Garriepy

Bonnie has been a part of Home Instead Senior Care team for seven years this July! Not only is Bonnie very flexible and accommodating, she juggles working for us and going to school full time to become a nurse. She has an enormous amount of energy and is willing to fill in whenever we call her in a pinch. She loves to keep busy and has proven to be a valuable asset to our company.

Bonnie works very well on teams and it is easy to see that she enjoys what she is doing and truly cares about her client’s well-being. She has had some of our more difficult and challenging clients, which can sometimes be hard to handle all the time, but she does it with ease.

We are happy that Bonnie is part of our Home Instead family and so is one of our client's, Mrs. K's daughter, who said, "Bonnie is outstanding and knows how to engage my Mother in conversation and keep her engaged throughout her shift. Her work ethic is impeccable and I never worry when she is tending to my Mother during her shift. In our eyes Bonnie is a CAREGiver Super Star and never fails to deliver. She is a true blessing and willing to help out in any way that she can."
Thank you Bonnie for your hard work and dedication!

June CAREGiver of the Month

Laura Walters

Laura has been a dedicated team member of ours since 2009 and since has proven herself to be dedicated, trustworthy, and above all, genuine.

Recently, after the passing of one of Laura’s clients, we received a call on her behalf from the nephew of that client letting us know how wonderful Laura had been to his aunt. The weekend of that client’s burial service, Laura was scheduled to leave on vacation and instead postponed her plans so she could attend the service. The client’s family was extremely touched by this gesture seeing how much Laura had obviously cared for their loved one and how she was willing to help the family through the healing process.

Laura is a perfect combination of controlled confidence mixed with a kindheartedness that makes her a wonderful CAREGiver. Thank you Laura, for all you have done and continue to do for us. It is an honor to have you as part of our team.

May CAREGiver of the Month

Misbau Adams

Misbau has been with Home Instead since September 2011 and is one of our PCH CAREGivers. Misbau has a great personality, positive attitude and caring nature. These attributes have been extremely valuable in aiding his clients!

Misbau is always happy and willing to help us out in a pinch and often goes that extra mile to make it happen. His clients have nothing but kind words for him and look forward to seeing him weekly. Misbau takes great pride in his care of others and it definitely shows. He is a team player and is an outstanding asset to the Home Instead team! Thank you Misbau!

April CAREGiver of the Month

Sandra Perna

Sandra has been with Home Instead Senior Care since the summer of 2009 and since then has had two long term clients.

She has also helped out in a pinch when we have needed some last minute care with clients in her area.

Sandra is extremely caring and is the type of person that doesn’t view what she does as work, but as a natural tendency to be helpful and want to take care of others. Sandra always calls to update the office as necessary and keep us all in the loop. As one client’s sister puts it , "She goes above and beyond the call of duty. She stepped up when my brother got sick and not only did she encourage him and cheer him up, she did a considerable amount of extra work."

We here at Home Instead really appreciate when a CAREGiver, like Sandra, is able to make a client’s family feel good about the care they are receiving for their loved ones. That is one of our main goals and we know we can count on Sandra to provide great care. Another client, Mrs. B, said, "She is soo wonderful and soo sweet and kind".

On behalf of our office and your clients, we want to say thank you for your hard work and commitment to representing Home Instead in the way we envisioned.

March CAREGiver of the Month

Cindy Ramsdell

Cindy has been with Home Instead since December 2010 and started as a CAREGiver on a fairly tough case. Since then Cindy has become a Certified PCA and now works with several of Home Instead’s PC clients!

Cindy is a hard worker and genuinely cares for her clients and their well-being and will go out of her way to make sure they are happy. One client describes Cindy as "having a wonderful personality and a great help to him since his wife’s passing." Another client says "Cindy is great and we are so pleased with her".

Cindy has helped us out in many tight spots and often takes fill-ins to make sure our clients don’t have to go without a CAREGiver. Cindy continues to take trainings at HISC to enhance her skills and expand her knowledge to better serve our clients. We are happy to have Cindy as a member of the Home Instead family and we look forward to more great things from Cindy!

February CAREGiver of the Month

Michelle Desjardin

Michelle joined the Home Instead team as a CAREGiver in January 2011 and began touching the hearts and lives of her clients immediately.

One particular client's wife Mrs. E. said, "She couldn't be more pleased with Michelle and felt there had been a tremendous weight lifted from her shoulders the moment she entered their lives."

Michelle's sweet and caring nature comes across the moment you meet her and is also evident when speaking with her over the phone. She is always polite and helpful when calling the office and is always willing to help out in a pinch. Thank you Michelle for your dedication to Home Instead. We are honored to have you on our team!

January CAREGiver of the Month

Candace Depaz

Candace has been working for Home Instead since December 2010, although she has been a caregiver for much longer than that. She has a mix of both Companion/Home Helper and Personal Care clients and is able to juggle a busy and somewhat unpredictable schedule.

In addition to Home Instead, Candace is a mom and has a second job that she works on the weekends. She is able to handle all of this, stress-free, and manages to help out with fill-ins when she can! She is extremely reliable and very easy going, which helps to make our clients feel more comfortable. One of her clients, Mrs. M, says "Candace is pleasant and excellent at what she does. She is a good CAREGiver and your company should be proud to have her."

Another client, Mr. C, mentioned that Candace "is very sharp, very efficient, and tuned in to my wife and her needs." It is very important and sometimes hard to be able to make a connection with clients that have different and varying needs. We are happy to have Candace on our staff because she has proven to be a genuinely caring person and can adapt to all of her clients needs.

Congratulations on behalf of us here at Home Instead and your clients on being CAREGiver of the Month!

2011 CAREGivers of the Year

Ellie Lapine - Natick Office

Her knack for organization and her nose for detail may be explained by her childhood as an Army brat. But her soft side was suggested when she shared that after many years of nursing she worked in a floral shop. We learned these details when Eleanor Lapine (Ellie to her friends) applied for a Personal Care Home Maker position with Home Instead back in November of 2007.

This wonderful combination of characteristics and well-honed skills has resulted in a totally awesome CAREGiver!

In Ellie’s almost four years with Home Instead she has worked with a variety of clients and is beloved by all of them. No job is too tough-no personality too difficult-no family too troublesome.

Ellie is absolutely awesome in her ability to get the most for (and from) her clients! Through her encouragement, expectations, and quirky dry humor, Ellie can motivate just about anyone to do anything…and because it’s Ellie, they know it is always for the better.

Beyond her CAREGiving abilities, Ellie is a wonderful employee. She is receptive, willing, innovative, proactive and thoughtful. For example, she noticed her M-W-F client was tired and had little appetite one Wednesday evening which was not completely unusual for this client. Ellie’s concern deepened on the Friday shift when the behaviors continued. Some might have allowed these altered behaviors to slide, but Ellie, knowing her client and that her next shift was not until after the weekend, knew to be proactive. She called the office. The office was able to contact the son and a plan was devised to provide some additional support through the weekend. By the normal Monday shift, the client was “her old self”. A possible medical incident and resulting hospitalization had probably been averted!

Congratulations to Ellie Lapine as the CAREGiver of the Year for our Natick Office!

Pat Chandley - Northborough Office

Having retired from 38 years of teaching, and finding that being an occasional substitute teacher was not keeping her busy enough, Pat Chandley was looking for …something else. Her experience as a family CAREGiver, and the satisfaction she gleaned from that role, led her to apply for a position as a CAREGiver for Home Instead Senior Care. Now, almost two years later, the rest is history!

Pat entered her role with a great set of skills. She is intelligent, described by her supervisors as "thoughtful…a great problem solver". She is creative, "able to think on her feet…resourceful". Pat is pleasant..."she's a joy…we love her". She is 100% dependable…”we know we can absolutely trust her”.

Pat is an active, athletic woman which might account for her wonderful ability to be a part of a care team. She pulls her own weight and will pitch in whenever needed for her clients, her care team and for Home Instead. Pat is diplomatic, cheerful and sensitive.

Pat has also been exemplary in her drive to grow within her position. She has completed her additional 20 hour Personal Care Training, her Alzheimer's training and attends as many of the in house, monthly trainings as her busy work schedule allows for. True to form, when unable to attend an in person training our monthly training mailings and library are put to good use by Pat. As a result of Pat’s efforts, our Home Instead Clients have reaped the great benefit of her increased skill level and self-assurance.

But this is only the icing on the cake. What makes Pat so very special, is her ability to make everyone around her feel special. Pat is able to turn every client’s fear of being dependent, into their wonderful discovery of a good friend, helping them to get what needs to be accomplished…in a seemingly seamless manner.

Pat's clients love her. Pat's client's families love her. We love Pat as well!!

For these reasons (and many more) Pat Chandley is the Northborough Office's CAREGiver of the Year. Thank you Pat!

2011

December CAREGiver of the Month

Donna Diliddo

Donna joined the Home Instead team as a personal care homemaker in May of 2010 and from day one has presented herself as hard working, trustworthy and reliable. Donna has worked on several hands-on cases that have required a very proactive approach for success and has handled them all like a true professional. She has intuitiveness when it comes to knowing what her clients’ needs are and is able to assist them successfully without overstepping boundaries.

In the office we rely heavily on communication with our CAREGivers to keep us informed of our client’s progress in order to continue providing them with the best care possible. Donna does an extraordinary job of this.  She has a way of delivering to us the necessary, detailed information we need without sugar coating anything and still preserving her client’s dignity and privacy.

It is these qualities that allow for an overall successful relationship between us and our clients and their families.  Thank you Donna for truly being an example of what it means to be a CAREGiver and all you do for your clients.  We are honored to have you as part of our team.

November CAREGiver of the Month

Susan Kaye

Susan has been with the Home Instead Team for two years. We recognize and appreciate her consistency and reliable work ethics and truly value what a great CAREGiver she is.

One client's daughter mentioned "We could not function without her. Susan makes things easier for me and my family. She fits in perfectly and is very proactive with my father-in-law’s care."

CAREGivers sometimes become more than just a watchful eye and companion for a client. We often have clients whose family members are burned out from taking care of their loved ones, and we provide a great source of respite for them as well. Another client’s son, Mr. O said, "Susan has been outstanding for us! We are very pleased with her patience and flexibility."

Susan is a trustworthy CAREGiver, who can deal with any client in any situation. She has a calming presence and ease about her and is able to roll with the punches. Susan, your efforts and above-and-beyond care for your clients does not go unnoticed by their family and by us here at Home Instead and we want to THANK YOU for contributing to our success of providing the best care!

October CAREGiver of the Month

Maureen Murray

Maureen has been with Home Instead since May of 2010. During this time, Maureen has worked with many clients as both a companion and PCH and has proven to be more than capable at handling each responsibility.

The quality of care she provides inspired one client to say, "You couldn't have made a better choice than Maureen for this honor. She is kind, considerate and somehow knows exactly what my wife and I need without us even having to tell her."

Maureen has worked with clients and families from many different personalities and backgrounds. She has been able to adapt to each unique situation with professionalism and respect for her clients' dignity. In her heart, she is a caregiver through and through and truly cares about each person she helps.

Thank you Maureen. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are grateful to have you as part of our team . . . and our clients are grateful as well. Congratulations, Maureen!

October BayPath Elder Services, Inc. Caregiver of the Year Award

Pat Doyle

BayPath Elder Services presented the "Outstanding Service Awards" on Friday, October 28, 2011 at their 34th anniversary and annual meeting breakfast. Pat was chosen as the Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver who most exemplifies consistent high standards of service and meaningfully contributes to the well being of the BayPath clients we work with. Congratulations, Pat! You are truly outstanding!

September CAREGiver of the Month

Alicia Rodriguez

Alicia has started off her Home Instead career very strong. She has a mixture of both PCH clients and Companion/Homemaking. She is extremely committed to providing exceptional care to our clients and is an excellent representative of what Home Instead is all about. According to one client, Mr. W, "She is very deserving of this honor. She is a lovely person and is so caring and wonderful with my wife."

Alicia has been providing consistent work for us for almost a year now. Some people might forget that with certain clients, it takes time to build a relationship and feel comfortable accepting help. Alicia has proven why consistency is so very important; she knows that there is someone waiting for her to show up and help them or just chat and be that companion and friend.

Alicia truly cares and wants only the best for her clients. She is very attentive and makes sure that her clients are comfortable and well taken care of. She keeps the office informed and responds quickly when needed.

Thank you Alicia for your outstanding effort for your clients and commitment to our Home Instead team!

August CAREGiver of the Month

Raisa joined the Home Instead team last September with many years of caregiving experience behind her. She has shown unwavering dedication and consistency with every case she has worked on. Raisa is able to present a confident attitude mixed with a kind hearted smile that makes her clients feel trusting and secure.

Thank you Raisa for really making a difference! We are honored to have you as part of our Home Instead team!

June CAREGiver of the Month

Kim Milo

You may recognize Kim as one of our Staff Coordinators now, but she has been with Home Instead Senior Care since June of 2010. During this time she has worked steadily for the same husband and wife team on a case that has often been challenging.

Part of being a successful CAREGiver is having the ability to adapt to different situations and surroundings. Kim not only does this well, but does it with ease and confidence.

Our client's son describes Kim as "Up for any challenge and having an amazing ability to roll with the punches."

In addition, Kim is always punctual and extremely reliable. We know we can always count on her to provide top quality care while upholding Home Instead's policies and procedures.

Thank you Kim for all of your hard work and dedication to Home Instead Senior Care and your clients!

May CAREGiver of the Month

Ruth Anne Argento

Ruth Anne will often take last minute new clients because it's her nature to be giving and lives to help others. According to her client Mrs. K, "the more you need her, the happier she is. She really is a star and is warm and truly caring!"

Thank you Ruth Anne for your outstanding commitment to your clients and Home Instead!

April CAREGiver of the Month

Carol Taylor

Carol Taylor has been a trusted member of our team since 2001, and over the last ten years we have had the opportunity to watch Carol grow to become one of our most trusted and dedicated workers.

When faced with the challenges of caring for an aging loved one, we need the security of knowing it is possible they can remain safely at home. Allowing an outside person to step into your home and your life can sometimes be challenging. It takes a special person to pull that off while instilling security and piece of mind to all involved. That is why when one of our own office staff found herself in the position of caring for her Grandmother she didn't hesitate to pick up the phone and call Carol for the job.

"Carol has provided the extra set of eyes our family needed and having her in our life has brought us such a tremendous amount of relief. She has helped motivate my grandmother. She also has helped her regain her independence. Now that she has Carol in her life she is smiling again. She says she looks forward to the days she gets to see Carol. They are having fun."

Thank you, Carol, for exemplifying all that we strive to accomplish here at Home Instead Senior Care. It is because of dedicated CAREGivers like you that we are successful. It has been a joy working with you these last ten years and we look forward to many more!

March CAREGivers of the Month

Pat Chandley, Pat Doyle, Karen Peterson and Ann McCarthy (not shown)

We didn't want any more time to go by without recognizing Mrs. T's team of truly dedicated CAREGivers: Pat Chandley, Pat Doyle, Ann McCarthy, and Karen Peterson. Not only have they exhibited great communication skills between themselves, but have kept the office informed of issues and changes, so that we could all deal with them for the good of the client. You are truly an extraordinary team. Thank you from all of us at Home Instead Senior Care.

February CAREGiver of the Month

Margaret White

Margaret is one of a handful of veterans here at Home Instead that has been with us for nine years! In that time, she has shown great dedication and loyalty and has become part of the Home Instead family. Margaret was one of the first of our CAREGivers to complete the PCH program back in 2007. She has both companion and PCH clients and demonstrates the best a CAREGiver can offer in quality and compassion.

According to one of her clients, Mrs. C, "Margaret is a gift. I think of her as a friend." We strive to make our clients believe and understand that our CAREGivers are not just there to work but to offer an ear and be of support to their needs. Margaret has done just that and that is why we are proud to have her on our team and recognize her for her efforts. She has seen our company grow to the larger scale that it is now and has grown herself along the way.

Thanks Margaret for all of your hard work and caring nature! We are honored and proud to have you be a part of the Home Instead team!

January CAREGiver of the Month

Pat Chandley

When Pat came to work for Home Instead February of 2010 she immediately hit the ground running. From day one, Pat has shown both dedication and commitment to her role as a CAREGiver by regularly attending in-service trainings as well as becoming certified as a PCA in order to maximize her skills and grow with our company.

As a retired high school teacher with the Worcester Public School system, Pat is no stranger to maintaining professionalism while under pressure and when facing difficult situations. She happily takes on any shift as requested, including the most difficult, and has never failed to make herself available in a pinch. One such example of Pat's level of commitment to her clients occurred during this month's record breaking snow storm. While very few were able to leave their homes with the confidence of safety, we didn't hesitate to call Pat knowing her dedication would see her through any obstacle to help out her client. Pat's warm smile and obvious love for what she does is as apparent over the phone as it is in person. Thank you Pat for everything you do for Home Instead, we are proud to have you as part of our team!

CAREGiver of the Year 2010

Sheila Kleya

Each year at our annual holiday party, Home Instead Senior Care recognizes the outstanding achievements of our CAREGivers. This year, Sheila Kleya, was one of our CAREGivers of the Year award recipients. Sheila exemplifies the best of the best. She is reliable, professional, well-spoken, patient and very knowledgeable. Sheila can work with any client and can make them feel comfortable and special. Starting out as a Companion/Homemaker in 2009, Sheila decided that she wanted to be able to work with a diverse clientele, so within her first year she became certified as a Personal Care Assistant. Sheila goes above and beyond to make her clients feel safe and well cared for. She thinks outside the box and her ingenuity shows in her creative solutions to her clients' needs. Sheila adapts to any situation. She really is the cream of the crop – our CAREGiver of the Year for 2010. Thank you to Sheila Kleya for setting the example of outstanding service!
