Home Helper/Companionship CAREGiver

We will train you. No certification is necessary

Personal Care Assistant/Home Helper "PCH" CAREGiver

Certification needed as a PCA, Home Health Aide (HHA) or CNA. We will provide a skills re-evaluation for expired certificates.

Responsiblities of a Home Helper/Companionship CAREGiver

Companionship services are those that stimulate, encourage and assist an individual while Home Helper services generally involve light housekeeping, errands, or incidental transportation.

Primary responsibilities of Companionship include:

• Providing companionship and conversation
• Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
• Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
• Providing medication and appointment reminders

Primary responsibilities of Home Helper include:

• Performing light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, etc.
• Washing and ironing laundry
• Running errands
• Accompanying clients to appointments

Other responsibilities might be added to these lists, depending on your situation, but the most important and most rewarding aspect of a career in caregiving is the value you bring to a senior's life.

Responsibilities of a Personal Care Assistant/Home Helper "PCH" CAREGiver

Having someone outside the family to help with these duties allows the senior to maintain his or her sense of dignity, and to keep the details of health issues confidential while remaining sensitive to family relationships. Our "PCH" certification includes the PCA training plus 40 hours of Home Helper experience.

Responsibilities of a PCH include:

• Grooming
• Dressing
• Bathing
• Incontinence
• Cognitive impairment
• Mobility
