The town of Upton is located in Worcester counties. Upton was originally the home of the Nipmuk but was settled in 1728 by Europeans. Upton was incorporated in 1735.
Upton was home to a number of members of the Taft family, including Samuel Taft, who served under George Washington and hosted President Washington during his inaugural tour of New England.
